Blog Entry 30-04-2025
Hello everyone!
Busy days ahead! I'm currently selling nearly ALL my belongings, renovating, networking, running workshops — and I haven’t even rehearsed my songs or played my Musitar lately. There’s literally dust on it… telling a rather dark story. A story of how, in Germany, my music isn’t valued the way it is in the UK.
After cancelling my flat (I have to move out within three months — and if the visa doesn’t work out, I’ll be homeless), I’ve started letting go of things. One of the first: a beloved speaker I used for busking.😢
So, no busking for now. But I’ll buy a new one in the UK — because I’m moving with the absolute bare minimum. I mean really... the absolute minimum!
Just enough to compose, perform, dress up fancy, ask for gigs and communicate with you. That’s it.
No kitchenware, no table, no mugs, no warm clothes, no washing machine — not even a fu***king microwave.
Here’s a snapshot of my current bedroom:
Oh, and on the topic of “burning down the flat”… yesterday, a full fire brigade was at my street because a neighbouring house had a serious fire.🚨
Luckily, I have nearly airtight windows — things could have gone differently.
Meanwhile, my living room is completely chaotic — packed and wild. But I’m not taking everything with me.
For example, I’ll dismantle my studio table (which I built myself) and reuse the wood to create temporary flight cases for my studio speakers. So the table won’t be thrown away — it will be transformed and help carry my music to the UK.
On Monday, I gave another round of VR music workshops for Caritas in Cologne. Then yesterday, I had the chance to meet Hans-Joachim Over, the Head of the Arts and Music Department here in Bonn.
We had a great chat about my UK plans and what I'm working on. He was surprised — especially when I mentioned that MusicFutures in Liverpool received £6.75 million in funding. They’re working with the same kind of experience and tech as I am: VR, AI, Future Tech — all applied to music. That’s me — and that’s them!
He was also amazed by my passion for the UK. Well, I’m a geek... or maybe a nerd? Possibly both — on steroids! 😅
I’m a professional Sci-Fi and gaming musician, tech expert (AI & VR), I love science, I teach in schools and youth centres...
Wait, why am I explaining myself? Never mind.
Oh sheesh... Time’s running out — today I’ll be giving my first VR music workshop at the Caritas Youth Centre in Bonn.
Tomorrow I’ll start patching the walls in my empty bedroom...
So sorry, I have to run! See you next Wednesday ✌️
Take care and stay awesome!
